What is ClearCorrect? What can it do? And what makes it better than braces?

What Is ClearCorrect?
ClearCorrect is an orthodontic system. The primary difference is that ClearCorrect uses plastic aligners, similar to small mouthguards, rather than wires and brackets to move teeth. This offers some “clear” advantages over braces as well (which will we get to momentarily).
Like braces, ClearCorrect can be used to correct a wide range of alignment issues:
▷ Teeth that are crooked
▷ Teeth that have gaps between them
▷ Teeth that are crowded
▷ Teeth with open bites
▷ Teeth with crossbites
▷ Teeth with underbites
▷ Teeth with overbites
What Makes ClearCorrect Better Than Braces?
For patients who are considering orthodontic care, there are a few reasons you may prefer ClearCorrect to traditional metal braces or ceramic braces.
□ ClearCorrect is clear.
When a patient uses ClearCorrect for his or her orthodontic care, that patient receives a series of custom-designed aligners. Each aligner is made of transparent plastic.
For patients who might feel self-conscious about wearing braces, this is a huge benefit. The clear aligners blend in with your smile when they are placed over your teeth. As a result, most people won’t notice that you are wearing anything. This can help you feel relaxed about your orthodontic treatment whether you are meeting someone in a personal or professional setting.
If you wore braces when you were younger or you know someone who did, then you also realize that is hard to not notice them. With ClearCorrect, you can feel more comfortable that people are paying attention to you, not your aligners.
□ ClearCorrect is removable.
It’s hard to explain just how much of an advantage this is over braces.
Braces are bonded directly to your teeth. That means if you get them, then you will be wearing them 24 hours a day, every day, until your treatment is complete.
This also creates some inconveniences during the two years or so that someone wears braces. People with braces are supposed to avoid certain foods. In particular, they are advised to avoid foods that are crunchy, chewy, and sticky. This can include everything from the buttery popcorn you want to get at the movies to pretzels and caramel candies. We won’t try to list every food you should avoid with braces here, but we think you get the idea.
With ClearCorrect, you can remove your aligners for up to a few hours per day. When is a great time to do this? When you are eating.
By removing your aligners during meals, you can eat whatever you want. After you eat, you can brush and floss your teeth just as you would today. You don’t need special tools or techniques to clean between your teeth or remove food particles stuck in the wires of your braces.
□ ClearCorrect is comfortable.
Like braces, ClearCorrect moves your teeth gradually until they are straight. The way ClearCorrect does this is through a series of aligners.
Every few weeks, you will replace one aligner with the next one in the series. You may notice some pressure each time you make these changes, but you can adjust to them within a few days.
Plus, your aligners are made with a single piece of smooth plastic. There are no edges to scratch the inside of your mouth, and there aren’t any wires that can break and poke into your lips, cheeks, or gums.
With braces, you feel that pressure nearly every day. To keep your teeth moving, you will need to have your braces tightened … and that’s about as pleasant as it sounds.
Of course, you would have brackets that can scratch the inside of your mouth. You also would have those wires that could bend or break if you eat the wrong food or accidentally get hit in the mouth with something.
