Periodontal problems can lead to chronic bad breath, painful infections, and tooth loss.
Fortunately, our team at Davenport Dental Group is on your side to help you prevent and treat gum disease.
1. Floss Daily (and Brush, Too)
The day after Thanksgiving was National Flossing Day. This is your reminder that flossing daily is just as important as brushing your teeth. Flossing is how you remove food particles and plaque buildup from places that your toothbrush can’t reach.
2. Get Regular Checkups
Professional cleanings are the most effective way to remove tartar from your teeth. During your visit, we also conduct a thorough exam. If we see signs of a periodontal infection, we will let you know right away.
3. Treat Any Trouble
If you do have a gum infection, you should treat it as soon as possible. Flossing can also help reverse gingivitis (a mild form of gum disease), and we have solutions to help at our practice.
